Trump Storms Out After Being Challenged by Female Reporters; a Pennsylvania Man Runs SUV Through Crowd of Health Care Workers; and Health Officials Fear Mother’s Day Gatherings May Cause Coronavirus Spike.
President Donald Trump suddenly ended a coronavirus briefing on Monday after he got visibly angry with two female reporters.
Trump took a question from Weijia Jiang, a CBS News reporter. She asked him why he often claimed the United States was “doing far better than any other country when it comes to testing,”. She also asked why he framed it as a “global competition,” when so many American citizens are still dying.
“Well, they’re losing their lives everywhere in the world. And maybe that’s a question you should ask China,” said Trump to Jiang, who was born in China. “Don’t ask me. Ask China that question. Okay? When you ask them that question, you may get a very unusual answer.”
Trump called on CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, another female reporter after that. She paused to allow Jiang to reply to Trump’s last question.
“Why are you saying that to me specifically,” asked Jiang.
Trump replied, saying that she was asking a “nasty question,” and then refused to let Collins ask her question, seemingly for pausing to allow Jiang to reply.
“Next, please,” said Trump, speaking over Collins as she tried to ask her question. Trump then immediately ended the briefing and walked off of the stage.
This isn’t the first time that Trump has become visibly angry with Jiang. In early April, he said to her, “It’s such a basic, simple question. And you try to make it sound so bad. You ought to be ashamed of yourself.” He referred to her tone as “very nasty.”
With Trump’s remarks, you’d think she suggested he should wearing tinted spf moisturizer, but that wasn’t the case.

Last week, a Pennsylvania man drove his vehicle through a crowd that was gathered to salute health care workers at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby. The crowd was composed of first responders.
The driver of the SUV was armed and threatened to harm people, say investigators. Thankfully, none of the people present were reported to be injured.
The man led police on a chase through the town after he ran a red light. Afterward, the man lost control of his vehicle, resulting in his car flipping over on its side. He was then taken into custody by police.

Health officials are concerned that Mother’s Day gatherings over the weekend may result in a spike of coronavirus cases over the next two weeks.
“We are very concerned because we’re a community that embraces our mothers and our grandmothers. Everyone is going to want to gather around them and celebrate all the hard work that they do,” said Dr. Hector Ocaranza, health authority for the City of El Paso.
“But we need to do that in a virtual way. We don’t want them to get infected by someone bringing the virus to them,” he continued.
Ocaranza emphasized how the elderly are particularly vulnerable to the virus. “How many older adults do we know that have diabetes? Almost every family has someone that has diabetes. That is one of the risk factors. We need to keep that in mind.”
