Trump Says Coronavirus Relief Package is ‘Dead on Arrival’; and Greta Thunberg Has Been Added to CNN’s Expert Coronavirus Panel.
A new Democratic coronavirus relief package will be voted on during a House vote on Friday. However, President Donald Trump is already shooting down the idea. He called it ‘dead on arrival.’
“DOA. Dead on arrival. Of course, Nancy Pelosi knows that,” he said to reporters at the White House on Wednesday.
Trump discussed election-related provisions as well. He ripped into the idea of having 15 consecutive days of early voting. Trump is also against allowing Americans to vote by mail. Voting by mail has been a hot topic after 52 people who attended the Wisconsin primary became infected with COVID-19.
“Mail-in ballots is subject to tremendous corruption. Tremendous corruption, cheating. And so I’m against it,” claimed Trump. “And if you look at the bill that Nancy Pelosi is putting in, it has a lot to do with elections. We’re not going to lose elections because of that.”
However, there is no evidence of widespread voter fraud in the United States. This is according to numerous studies, testimonials, and investigations by election officials in states that vote by mail.
Henry Connelly, a spokesman for Pelosi responded to Trump’s claims:
“On the day that Fed Chair Powell warns of deepening and long-term economic damage unless more coronavirus aid is signed into law, President Trump shouldn’t be standing in the way of desperately needed help for American families.”

CNN is hosting an upcoming town hall dedicated to COVID-19. The panel will feature Greta Thunberg alongside a panel of medical experts. The program is titled, “Coronavirus Facts and Fears,”
However, social media has already erupted at the idea. Some have started ripping into CNN’s choice to include Thunberg.
“What place does Greta Thunberg have in this town hall?” said one Twitter user, Yashar Ali, who is known for rabble-rousing.
He followed up his tweet by clarifying, “I understand that but this is a panel of top health experts and administrators. A climate activist would be better suited on a different panel. She’s not a climate scientist. It’s a matter of placement.”
However, some social media users defended CNN’s decision.
Roxane Gay tweeted, “Unqualified men appear on cable all day every day, bloviating endlessly, but Greta Thunberg is a bridge too far? Ok.”
Oscar-winning actor Patricia Arquette wrote, “She has extraordinary knowledge and she is the next generation that is left to clean this mess we’ve made. They wouldn’t have her there if she wasn’t a powerful voice.”
Another follower tweeted, “It’s a town hall, not a meeting of scientists. Some of their previous guests have been chef Jose Andres, director Spike Lee, author Laurie Garrett, etc etc.”
Greta Thunberg recently launched a children-first campaign to help protect young lives during the coronavirus pandemic. She pledged a grant of $100,000 that was awarded to her by Danish NGO Human Act, toward the effort.
“Like the climate crisis, the coronavirus pandemic is a child-rights crisis,” said Thunberg. “It will affect all children, now and in the long-term, but vulnerable groups will be impacted the most. I’m asking everyone to step up and join me in support of UNICEF’s vital work to save children’s lives to protect health and continue education.”
Thankfully, caretakers can use virtural doctors to help children avoid spreading the virus. Doing so can help save other’s lives in return. Children are known to spread the virus. This is because they can carry the virus while showing no symptoms.
