On Monday, without evidence, President Donald Trump accused former President Barack Obama of treason.
Trump lashed out at former President Barack Obama on Monday, accusing him of treason. He said Obama committed treason in connection with the 2016 Trump campaign’s Russian contacts investigation.
“Treason. Treason. It’s treason,” said Trump during an interview with CBN News. “They’d been spying on my campaign. Turned out I was right. Let’s see what happens to them now.”
Trump implied that he was looking forward to the results of an ongoing investigation, praising Attorney General William Barr.
“I want to stay out of it because otherwise, it’s going to look political,” said Trump. “Let’s see what they come up with.”
However, Elie Honig, a legal analyst and former federal prosecutor in New York, was dismissive of Trump’s claims.
“First, all the wiretaps were court-approved. Second, there’s no proof Obama had anything to do with those lawful wiretaps.
“And third, if we need to get technical (and we don’t because there’s nothing there) treason only applies during a declared war,” Honig told The Hill.

88-year-old May Boyce owns a liquor store in Nashville, and she got “fed up” with people robbing her store. As a result, reports say that the 5-foot-3, 115-pound woman shot an alleged shoplifter last Tuesday.
“I did what I had to do, and I hope word gets out on the street that I’m fed up and I’m not taking it anymore,” said Boyce to The New York Post. “You’ve got to stick up for yourself sometimes.”
Boyce is now out on a $10,000 bond. “After you’ve been played for a fool by people stealing from you for years, you get fed up. And don’t put me in the category of a little old lady. I know how to take care of myself.”
However, she did say she wasn’t actually aiming for the thief when she shot him in the back. The thief may be undergoing back pain treatment as a result.
“I never shot a gun before,” said Boyce. “But, I guess it’s something that comes natural. I aimed at the floor to scare him.”
As a result, it might be two years before she’s able to get her confiscated gun back, according to authorities.
“I told them, s—t. I might be dead by then,” said Boyce. “But the law’s the law.”
