A UK woman is left devastated after a seagull snatched her pet chihuahua from her home.
Becca Hill, 24, says that a seagull swooped down and carried off her 4-year-old miniature chihuahua from her yard in Paignton, Devon. Her partner was hanging up laundry outside when he saw the seagull snatch the dog, Gizmo.
Originally, Becca had made a post on Facebook, but has since removed the post. According to UAV Lost Dog Search & Rescue, who are assisting in helping Becca find Gizmo, she removed the post because of unnecessary trolling. People were leaving hateful and spiteful comments, making a joke of the situation.
While seagull attacks on dogs are pretty rare, they aren’t unheard of.
Becca is unsure of where he might be now, as the seagull carried Gizmo far enough away that they couldn’t see him anymore. But she remains hopeful. Becca and her young daughter are hoping that Gizmo was dropped by the seagull and can be reunited with them and their other two dogs. Rescuers are now searching rooftops, trees, and garages in the area.
