Trump Refuses to Denounce White Supremacy During Debate

President Donald Trump on Tuesday refused to condemn White supremacists. During the first presidential debate, moderator Chris Wallace asked Trump if he would condemn White supremacists and say they should stand down during ongoing demonstrations across the country.

“Sure, I’m willing to (tell them), but I would say almost everything I see is from the left wing, not from the right wing. I’m willing to do anything. I want to see peace,” said Trump.

“Say it. Do it. Say it,” said Democratic nominee Joe Biden.

“Who would you like me to condemn?” asked Trump, to Chris Wallace.

In the background, Biden said twice, “Proud Boys.”

Trump continued, “Proud Boys—stand back and stand by. But I’ll tell you what. Somebody’s got to do something about Antifa and the left because this is not a right wing problem.”

The Proud Boys group immediately began celebrating online following Trump’s suggestion that they “stand by.”

An updated Proud Boys logo is now in circulation that features the President’s “stand by” remark.

After the debate, Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris was asked about what the President said.

“I heard what we all heard,” said Harris. “The President of the United States, in the year of our lord 2020, refuses to condemn White supremacists.”

“People talk about is he dog-whistling, dog-whistling through a bull horn is what he’s doing,” she added.

Joe Biden Tells President Trump to Shut Up

Another stunning moment during the presidential debate is when Joe Biden grew exasperated with President Trump, telling him to shut up.

The debate became heated during a discussion about the new reports from The New York Times that Trump paid very little or no federal income taxes during the past two decades.

As Biden tried to talk about fairness, and how the average schoolteacher pays more in taxes than Trump, the President overtook Biden’s time in an attempt to change the subject.

The discussion escalated, and during a heated exchange involving health care, Biden said, “Donald, would you just be quiet for a minute?”

And later, when the president continued to interrupt, Biden again asked Trump, “Will you shut up, man?”

Biden was promised “two minutes uninterrupted,” by Chris Wallace, which was again interrupted by Trump, with an attack on Biden’s son, Hunter.

Wallace rebuked the president, saying, “Mr. President. Your campaign agreed that both sides would get two-minute answers. Uninterrupted. Well, your side agreed to it. Why don’t you observe what your campaign agreed to as a ground rule.”

“He never keeps his word,” replied Biden.
