Officials from Pakistan have accidentally discovered a new way to get people interested in politics and increase the views on press conferences: by turning on filters.

In this case, the cat filter was accidentally turned on Friday, morphing the regional minister Shaukat Yousafzai and other politicians sitting with him into cats.

There is a Cat in the Cabinet

The video from the press conference was almost immediately deleted as soon as it ended, but don’t worry – the internet saved dozens of screenshots from the conference which show serious politicians discussing important issues with rosy pink cheeks, black cat ears, and whiskers.

Twitter exploded when the video was shared, with clever puns being thrown around. Someone even suggested that the British Parliament consider implementing filters to increase viewers, tagging the UK House of Lords and the UK Parliament’s official twitter accounts.

It has been described as ‘human error’ with steps being taken to prevent this cat-tastrophy in the future. Yousafzai said of the incident, “let’s not take everything so seriously.”
