Passenger Refuses to Wear Mask, Gets Booted From Flight

On Wednesday, officials removed an American Airlines passenger from a flight. And why? Because he refused to wear a face mask. Face coverings on airplanes are not universally mandated, but airlines are enforcing stricter safety measures on their own.

Passenger Brandon Straka was traveling from New York to Dallas. When he refused to wear a face mask that was required by American Airlines, he was asked to leave the flight.

American Airlines confirmed the incident, saying Straka declined to wear a face covering.

“After he refused to comply with the instructions provided by the flight crew, our team members asked him to deplane. He deplaned and the flight departed the gate four minutes late at 12:34 p.m. ET,” said the airline in a statement.

Straka agreed to comply with company policies on a later flight. However, he said that once he boarded the plane, he took it off and no one complained.

“This is insane. Absolutely insane,” said Straka in a social media post on Periscope. “We don’t even have a choice anymore.”

Straka is a conservative personality who has appeared on Fox News. On his website, he describes himself as a past liberal and encourages people to leave the Democratic party.

Unfortunately, it looks like airline passengers have more to worry about now than the availability of healthy coffee creamer.

Two Black Women Buy Deputy Breakfast at Cracker Barrel

Two women surprised a Tennessee deputy this week when they offered to pay for his breakfast. What surprised him the most is the note that they left behind.

Jody McDowell said his waitress approached him shortly after he received his meal. She said, “I was told to give this to you,” and handed over the note.

The note read:

“BLM But so does yours! Thank you for your service. Breakfast paid.”

McDowell posted an image of the note on Facebook, with a caption.

The caption read:

“I want to thank the two sweet black ladies who paid for my breakfast this morning. While waiting for a transport to be completed, I decided to have breakfast at a Cracker Barrel near the Nashville airport. I received this note from them.”

McDowell said he never learned the women’s names, but he still wanted them to know that he appreciated their kind gesture.
