Recently, there’s been renewed interest in the idea of Michelle Obama running for President of the United States.
This comes after Michael Moore brought up the topic on MSNBC just a couple of days ago. The documentary filmmaker said he thinks the former first lady is the one “beloved American” who could “crush Trump.”
But would she actually be willing to run?
Unfortunately, for those who wish she would, Obama retains the same sentiment she’s always had towards the idea. When posed with the question recently, she said “there’s zero chance” she’d seek the presidency.
In an interview for Amtrack’s The National magazine, Obama told 12-year-old journalist Hilde Lysiak that she had other ideas instead.
Obama explained that she’s already taking steps to “improve this country and build a better world.” However, “sitting behind the desk in the Oval Office,” she asserts, “will never be one of them.”
