Man Dies After Drinking One Energy Drink a Day; Leap Day Babies Welcomed in a Special Way; and Timers for People Who Spend Entirely Too Much Time on the Toilet.
After the tragic death of her husband, Cassondra Reynolds is hoping to spread awareness about the “dangerous” caffeine content found in energy drinks.
“John was healthy, he worked out every day, he had had a full physical examination the month prior and all his results came back fine,” said Cassondra.
Her husband, John, was known to grab an energy drink on his way to work. He worked as a mechanic, which often involved working the night shift.
One morning, Cassondra woke up to find her 41-year-old husband gasping for breath, and tried to perform CPR as emergency vehicles rushed to their home.
“When he went to the hospital, the doctor told me that his sugar levels were sky high and were asking me all sorts of questions about his lifestyle, whether he took drugs and if he had any health issues,” said Cassondra.

“Eventually, the doctor asked me if he drank energy drinks, which I replied, ‘Yes, but only once a day.’ He immediately explained that it only takes one energy drink to throw off the rhythm of your heart causing a heart arrhythmia.”
Her husband spent 14 days in the hospital after suffering cardiac arrest. Cassondra made the difficult decision to turn off life support.
“When he was pronounced brain dead, I let my children come and visit him to say their goodbyes. I asked the nurse to remove as many wires as possible so that they wouldn’t be scared.”
Cassondra said watching her husband take his last breath was the “most painful thing” she has ever experienced, and said he was the “best husband” and a “really good dad.”
“I want people to know how dangerous these drinks are and I need people to speak out about losing their loved ones because it happens all the time, you just don’t hear about it. The doctor told me that drinking energy drinks is like playing Russian roulette with your life and that really stuck with me.”
After FIVE babies were born on Leap Day at Osceola Regional Medical Center in Florida, the staff leaped for joy and celebrated the new babies in the cutest way possible.
They dressed the newborns in hand-knit frog costumes.
“We leaped for so much joy yesterday with our newborns. HOPPED You Had a Great Leap Year Day!,” read the Facebook post.
Too bad the babies will only get to celebrate their birthdays every four years from now on…

If you have a “poo-crastinator” in your life who uses the toilet as a way to avoid doing everything except doo-ing, this might be the perfect product for them.
The product description reads, “The Toilet Timer is for the poo-crastinator taking their sweet time. This is a sand timer that runs for about five minutes. Help your loved one get back to the people they are trying to avoid.”
“We’ve concocted a special new blend of unicorn magic and gravity that makes the Toilet Timer easy to set. Runs for about five minutes. Just spin to set!”
Whether your favorite poo-crastinator will actually use the gift is another situation altogether, though.
One review on Amazon summarizes the problem pretty well: “This is a cute novelty item, but unfortunately, it doesn’t inspire my husband to move things along any faster. I swear, he sits in there and waits for poop to form in his colon.”
Maybe cutting off her husband’s cell service or wifi might be an even better gift?
