The fossil remains of a partial skull and teeth of an early Homo naledi child who died almost 250,000 years ago, between the age of 4 to 6, were discovered in a cave in South Africa. Homo naledi is a species of archaic human found in the Rising Star Cave, Cradle of Humankind, 30 miles northwest of Johannesburg, and dates to the Middle Pleistocene era 335,000–236,000 years ago, NBC reported.
“Homo naledi remains one of the most enigmatic ancient human relatives ever discovered,” Professor Guy Berger of the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, who led the team, said in an announcement. “It is clearly a primitive species, existing at a time when previously we thought only modern humans were in Africa.”

A freedom of information act request led to the accidental discovery that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded lab experiments that tortured and killed beagle puppies. Now, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is calling for the resignation of Doctor Anthony Fauci, BGR reports.
“The commissioned tests involved injecting and force-feeding the puppies an experimental drug for several weeks, before killing and dissecting them,” a group of Congressman wrote in a letter to Dr. Fauci.
“Our position is clear,” PETA wrote in a tweet. “ALL those in leadership at NIH, including Fauci, should resign.”
