Lindsay Lohan’s ex-boyfriend and famous restauranteur was found dead, at the age of 38, in his home in Los Angeles on Saturday, November 23. His body was discovered by his younger brother.
Actress Lindsay Lohan is mourning the loss of her ‘best friend’, Harry Morton, who is known for famously founding the Pink Taco restaurant chain in 1999 when he was only 18-years-old. He and Lohan dated in 2006, in a whirlwind romance that ended that same year.
However, they remained friends who clearly thought very much about one another.
Lindsay posted a tribute on social media after hearing the news of his death, that showed a black and white photo of the two of them together, with the caption, “Best friends. Best life.”
Her younger sister, Aliana Lohan, replied to the post with a prayer hands emoji, and their mother, Dina Lohan, commented saying, “So sorry my lil princess. He’s always with you, watching over you baby.”
The news of Morton’s passing came as a shock, considering his young age, but it is being reported that he died from undiagnosed heart disease, according to preliminary tests. No foul play is suspected, and no drugs were found in his system.
Deputy medical examiner at the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner, Dr. Matthew Miller, confirmed on Tuesday that Morton had a mildly enlarged heart, and coronary artery disease.
A leading cardiothoracic surgeon and family friend, Dr. Kathy E. Magliato, confirmed that Morton suffered sudden cardiac death and had calcification in three main arteries.
Harry Morton’s family issued a statement saying:
“We are devastated by the loss of our beloved son, brother, and friend. Harry was the brightest light in all our lives and his spirit will live on forever.”
A memorial service is being planned for Saturday after more tests are carried out, which include microscopy of Morton’s other organs.
For those who are unaware, Harry Morton is known for his Pink Taco chain, which helped his net worth quickly grow to $300 million. His father started the Hard Rock Cafe in Las Vegas, which is where Morton first got his start working in the restaurant business.
Lindsay Lohan isn’t the only famous celebrity that Morton has dated. Other famous girlfriends include Demi Moore, Hayden Panettiere, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, and Jennifer Aniston. He never had children and never married.
