How Are Kobe Bryant’s Loved Ones?

Vanessa Bryant, the 37-year-old widow of Kobe Bryant has been surrounded by “a good support system” since her husband’s death, but friends of the family point out that “you can never be prepared for this.”

Friends of Vanessa told People magazine that she has been struggling to “keep it together” and “can’t finish a sentence without crying. Despite their ups and downs, [the couple] were soulmates. She thought of him as her partner for life.”

The source said that Vanessa is “devastated. She can hardly keep it together. She can’t finish a sentence without crying. But she is working very hard to pull it together for the other girls.

“She has a good support system. She is relying on her faith. She is not alone. But she will be grieving this for a very long time. It’s an extremely difficult and devastating time for Vanessa and the whole family.”

The couple got married in 2001, when Kobe was just 22 and Vanessa was 18.

100k Gallons of Wine Spills in California

No one wants to hear about wasted wine. So imagine losing almost 100,000 gallons of cabernet sauvignon! The massive wine leak bursted from a tank in a Sonoma County vineyard and the equivalent of 500,000 bottles of wine spilled into the nearby Russian River.

Rodney Strong Vineyards issued a statement following the incredible loss. They say “at least 50% of the wine was diverted from the waterways,” but some of the liquid made its way into the Russian River.

A spokesman for Rodney Strong, Chris O’Gorman, said, “We’re investigating what appears to be a mechanical failure. We’re not entirely sure at this point, but we’re deeply concerned about this week and protecting our waterways here in Sonoma County.”

“We feel like not that much wine got into the waterway,” he continued. “We are investigating the other tanks. We’ve moved wine out of the area to prevent any future leaks as well.”

Polar Bears Will Soon Become Extinct

Ole Liodden, a wildlife photographer and conservationist has warned that if trophy hunting doesn’t cease, polar bears could soon go extinct.

The photographer spent four years on a project that highlights the plight of polar bears, and how unsustainable hunting is the biggest threat to their species.

It doesn’t help that the hunter’s main focus are the healthiest, strongest males.

“The polar bear is one of the most exclusive species for trophy hunters to pursue. But it is the mammal species least suitable because of low cub survival, low reproduction rate, and climate change.”
