Anthony Scaramucci, the former White House Communication Director, said while speaking to a crowd this week that if Trump isn’t impeached soon, he is going to leave office to “take one for the team”.
Scaramucci famously lasted just six days as Communications Director for the President, the shortest in history. In order to accept the position, Scaramucci sold thousands and thousands of dollars in stocks and shares in various companies to avoid a conflict of interest.
During that time, he also missed the birth of his son, who was two weeks early and spent time in the NICU – but don’t worry, he texted his then-wife Deidre “Congratulations”.
Scaramucci, back to being a political consultant and financier, spoke at Vanity Fair’s 6th Annual New Establishment Summit, which was held at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in California.
At the summit, the Long Island native says that he does not believe Trump will make it for a second term in any way. If he can outlast impeachment long enough to know what’s coming, Scaramucci believes he will step down.
“In the next three to six weeks, there will be more damning information related to the president”, he predicted, like a bad psychic on a television show. “He’s aware of it.”
The Mooch thinks that McConnell will soon take him aside and ask him to step down to prevent a public embarrassment to the whole Republican Party with an impeachment. “He’ll probably end up back at Mar-a-Lago or something.”
When Anthony Scaramucci was first announced as the new White House Communications Director, he was a big supporter of Donald Trump. As we noted above, he even missed the birth of his son to attend a function with the President.
Since his sudden and dramatic departure from the White House, however, Scaramucci has changed his opinion on Trump. A now outspoken critic, he hasn’t made any attempt to hide the fact that he does not think Donald Trump is fit for office.
After news of the Ukraine phone call scandal broke, The Mooch tweeted Trump directly, calling him a “felon and a traitor to the United States”. Trump, in kind, has regularly called Scaramucci “highly unstable”, a “nutjob”, and said he “made a fool of himself” in his short time with them.
On his personal Twitter account, Scaramucci’s pinned tweet is an interview with the Washington Post where he explains – in detail – why he was wrong about Trump as a candidate for President and how he can “make things right”.
Ouch.
Scaramucci has a selection of the discussion available on his Twitter right now, where he tells Donald Trump that “the end is near”. Check it out below.
The end is near for @realDonaldTrump
