Dad Dares Son to Dress as Hot Dog for School Photo

The mom’s reaction wasn’t quite what you’d expect.  We’ll explain what happened – you’ll want to hear this one from the very beginning.

It was a picture day like any other at Biddeford Intermediate School in Maine. That is, until one kid showed up in a hot dog costume to have his ID photo taken.

Dad Dares Son to Wear Hot Dog Costume For Picture Day

In what sounds like a prank dreamed up by a mischievous kid, the funniest part about the whole incident is that the kid’s dad was the mastermind behind the whole thing.

Craig Arsenault told Jake, his 9-year-old son, that it would be “legendary” if he showed up for picture day in his Halloween costume. Most kids would probably jump on the parent-approved opportunity to be a goof, but perhaps Jake needed a little extra convincing. Craig actually promised his son a whole $10 if he took the dare.

Of course, that is just a dad being a dad, right? Mom will step in at any moment and call the whole thing off.

Mom’s Reaction to Hot Dog School Photo Prank

Apparently not! In fact, Craig’s wife, Kari, even wrote a note to her son’s school explaining the dare, and asking for permission! She wrote, “We are aware and OK with Jacob Arsenault’s intention to wear his hot dog costume for school pictures, if possible.”

Sound’s like Jacob has a pretty cool mom, if you ask me.

Their son, Jacob, held up his end of the bargain and wore that hot dog costume to school for picture day. Jake had a ball with the prank and definitely enjoyed all the attention. According to Craig, Jake’s only regret was that he didn’t get to wear the hot dog costume for a whole school day, as picture day was on a half-day.

Craig shared a photo on Facebook of his son sporting his hot dog costume and holding his new ID card. “My wife and I dared our son to wear a hot dog costume for school pictures. The school let him do it, and I couldn’t be happier,” Craig shared on the social media platform.
