Update: Bernie Sanders now pledges to immediately legalize weed in all 50 states on his first day as President if elected.
The Iowa caucus happens today, and Bernie Sanders is making his thoughts on the legalization of marijuana very clear. If elected, he said he will end the war on drugs once and for all:
“We will end the destructive war on drugs. On my first day in office through executive order, we will legalize marijuana in every state in this country.”
He emphasized how important it would be to his administration to end the prohibition of cannabis so that communities will no longer be harmed. “We will move forward to expunge the records of those arrested for possession of marijuana,” said Sanders.
“And we will make certain that the legalized marijuana industry is not controlled by a handful of corporations, but that those people–the African-American community, the Latino community, the Native American community–those people who have suffered the most will get help in order to make money through a legalized marijuana industry.”

On Tuesday he went on the Joe Rogan Experience to talk about hot button issues, and while there he laid out his plan not just to legalize weed on a federal level, but he also promised to reveal the existence of aliens if he became commander in chief.
Sanders plans to legalize weed on a federal level by executive order, something he will be able to do if he is elected president. This is well within his ability as Commander in Chief.
Sanders said it was unacceptable that the Controlled Substances Act classified marijuana the same as heroin or cocaine, and called heroin a “killer drug”. He explained to Rogan that by legalizing marijuana more regulation for the growth and treatment of the plant could be enacted, ensuring that Americans are consuming a final product that is healthy and safe.
Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, and Pete Buttigieg have all agreed with Sanders that marijuana should be legalized.
Towards the end of the interview, Rogan asked a strange question. Would Sanders reveal information about aliens, were he elected president?
Laughing, Sanders agreed to the prospect, even promising to come onto Joe’s show if he had any alien intel to share. Of all the presidential hopeful, Sanders seems the most likely candidate to us to share alien existence.
