Chaos at Mar-a-Lago

On Friday, an incident in Palm Beach began when a woman exited a hotel and began dancing on cars and causing a scene. The authorities were called to address the situation, but the woman was far from cooperative with police. She quickly got to a black SUV and fled the scene along with another person in the vehicle. It’s unclear which of the people was driving.

As police followed, the vehicle sped through Palm Beach, blowing through red lights and security checkpoints alike. The pursuit continued to the Mar-a-Lago resort, where the SUV did not heed a pair of checkpoints as authorities gave chase through the resort.

Police Try to Stop Pursuit

As the SUV sped through the resort and then back out into Palm Beach, Florida Highway Patrol continued their pursuit. A helicopter joined the chase, giving the officers on the ground support by helping track the vehicle’s movements. Finally, authorities were able to stop the vehicle using advanced driving maneuvers.

Once the vehicle had come to a stop, authorities were able to apprehend and arrest the two people within the SUV. It is unclear, at this time, whether the woman who was originally dancing on cars was the person driving or just a passenger.

Ordeal Sets Resort on Alert

As the SUV sped through the resort, guests inside were ordered to stay there and told they wouldn’t be able to leave while the situation was unfolding. Both staff and guests were informed that they would be unable to come and go for as long as a few hours. At the time, officials in the club were unsure what the nature of the situation was.

Now that the scenario has ended and authorities have the two people from the SUV in custody, relative calm has returned to the resort. Officials planned to hold a press conference on the afternoon’s events by 3 PM on Friday.
