First, we had the Wall of Moms in Portland who went out to try to protect peaceful protestors by interlocking arms and acting as a wall, with the thought that no one is going to pepper spray moms!
On Monday the moms were outside the federal courthouse when law enforcement deployed “CS gas”, according to the police department.
That apparently was a line drawn in the sand for a group of men who call themselves the PDX Dad Pod, who joined the moms and carried leaf blowers to help dissipate tear gas from police towards the protesters, specifically the Wall of Moms organization.
Videos and pictures of the group were posted across social media as protests calling an end to police brutality against Black Americans continue in Portland.
Before the start of the protest, PDX Dad Pod tweeted, “come stand up for your town, your neighbors, your kids. Look for the other orange shirts, use the buddy system. And remember, safety first.” The tweet also included a photo of the leaf blowers the dads were carrying and details about Tuesday’s protest.
