After a busy week of photo ops and cursing the “Fake News media,” Donald Trump has decided he needs a break. No, he’s not resigning. Pretending to unite the country must have taken a lot out of him though, so he’s going on vacation.
Today he leaves for a 2-week trip to his New Jersey golf club, despite the many crises still unfolding.
As Trump sets off for his annual holiday, several issues are still plaguing the U.S.
Still grieving the losses from two mass shootings, there are heightened calls for gun control reform. Additionally, there’s the escalating trade war with China, and North Korea is conducting missile tests again, too.
Plus, he’s also got his 2020 reelection bid to think about.
According to Daily Mail, Trump’s team is fearful that the Tweeter-in-Chief will have more time to spend on his favorite social platform. They also claim that his friends are saying that the president is feeling “smug,” right now.
Still, his poll numbers aren’t exactly going up. Plus, is the ability to unite the country during a time of crisis is coming under serious fire.
Though while the pressure is on, he still remains as confident as ever.
Aides say Trump will be directing his attention towards golfing, cable news, and (obviously) Twitter while on vacation.
