President Trump Goes Golfing for 283rd Time as Coronavirus Toll Passes 153,000

Donald Trump went golfing again over the weekend at one of his own golf clubs. He did so as the country continues to experience a surge in coronavirus cases. Not only that, but the jobless benefits many Americans are counting on expired.

According to CNN, this marks the 283rd golf trip and 376th day at a Trump property since becoming President.

Trump lambasted his predecessor, Obama, for his visits to the golf course. He claimed that if he took office, he would be too busy to play golf. However, his trips have far out-pace how often the former President would play golf.

This most recent golf trip even drew criticism from Republicans, including Joe Walsh, a former Republican congressman.

“I’m glad he’s playing golf. I’d pay him to play golf for the rest of his Presidency. The country would be much safer and much better off if all he did was golf for the next 5-6 months,” tweeted Joe Walsh.

Perhaps timesheet software could help Trump keep up with how often he goes golfing compared to other official business.

Pelosi Ponders if Trump has “an ounce” of “decency” in “that big frame”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi threw shade at Trump’s “big frame” during an interview with CNN. She made the remarks after she was asked to weigh in on remarks Trump made after Obama eulogized the late Rep. John Lewis.

“I don’t intend to come on one of these shows and talk about the, shall we say, wanderings of and the notion maundering of the president of the United States,” said Pelosi. “He succeeds because all we do is talk about it. So, why are we talking about this?”

“You would think that there would be an ounce in that big frame of decency to say something about the importance of voting in our democracy instead of criticizing somebody else’s eulogy,” Pelosi added.

Media Banned from Republican Convention Due to COVID-19 Restrictions

When the GOP votes to renominate Donald Trump for president, the press will not be present. This will be a modern first.

“Given the health restrictions and limitations in place within the state of North Carolina, we are planning for the Charlotte activities to be closed [to] press Friday, August 21–Monday, August 24,” the convention spokeswoman said.

“We are happy to let you know if this changes, but we are working within the parameters set before us by state and local guidelines regarding the number of people who can attend events.”
