President Donald Trump may once again face impeachment. On Sunday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said she wouldn’t rule out impeachment as an option to stop Trump’s U.S. Supreme Court pick.
She said Democrats will “use every arrow in our quiver” to block the nominee.
Almost immediately after Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died on Friday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell made a vow. He said a Trump nominee “will receive a vote on the floor of the United States Senate.”
This is a stark contrast to 2016. He refused to hold a hearing for Merrick Garland, who former President Barack Obama chose to fill a vacant seat eight months before the election. McConnell’s argument was that during an election year, voters should be able to decide which presidential candidate should pick the next justice.

Pelosi was asked during an interview on ABC News “This Week,” if she and House Democrats would move to impeach the president. She was also questioned about whether impeaching Attorney General Bill Barr was an option.
“We have our options. We have arrows in our quiver that I’m not about to discuss right now. But, the fact is we have a big challenge in our country,” said Pelosi. “This president has threatened to not even accept the results of the election.”
“Our main goal would be to protect the integrity of the election as we protect the people from the coronavirus,” she added.
Back in June, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler suggested that his panel “may very well” initiate impeachment proceedings against Attorney General Bill Barr.
It would involve his committee’s broad investigation into the alleged “unprecedented politicization” of the Justice Department. Indeed, it makes you wonder which payroll companies might be involved.

Pelosi was pressed again about whether she’d consider impeachment tactics. Without reservation, she replied that the Constitution requires that Congress “use every arrow in our quiver.”
“We have a responsibility,” said Pelosi. “We take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, we have a responsibility to meet the needs of the American people.”
“When we weigh the equities of protecting our democracy, it requires us to use every arrow in our quiver,” she added.
