It was announced Tuesday that Robert Mueller has agreed to testify after House Democrats issued a subpoena for his testimony.
Over the last several weeks. Democratic lawmakers have been calling for former special counsel Robert Mueller to testify regarding his investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election and possible obstruction of justice by Trump.
Now, Mueller will testify publicly before the House Judiciary and Intelligence Committees on July 17th, in what is slated to be the most-anticipated congressional hearing in years. Lawmakers are eager to question Mueller about the investigation, which Trump has repeatedly called a “witch hunt.”
Trump took to Twitter to respond to the news, by crying, “Presidential Harassment!”

Mueller’s investigation led to criminal charges against 3 businesses and 34 individuals, including six of Trump’s former senior aides and advisers and Russian intelligence officers.
It was discovered that several of Trump’s former aides lied to investigators and Congress, trying to downplay links to Russia.
The investigation also did not clear President Trump of criminal wrongdoing, but according to Mueller, investigators were blocked by a long-standing Justice Department policy that prevents the criminal prosecution of sitting presidents.
