In 1982, the very first Rambo movie was released and was instantly a success. Since then, 4 Rambo movies total have been released, following John Rambo’s path of death, destruction, and explosions.
Now, after debuting at the Cannes Film Festival in May and seeing sketchy leaked footage, we finally have the full trailer for what is expected to be the last in the series, Rambo: Last Blood.
An aging John Rambo is seen reflecting on his life from a farm, riding horses and sitting on a rocking porch. His voiceover reveals the deep pain and struggle that someone who has killed so often goes through, and talks about the risks of ‘Them Coming’ after him, and the consequences he will bring upon them.
Reportedly, the movie is about Rambo going after a Mexican cartel who has taken someone he considers to be family to sell for sex trafficking. This movie is going to be different from the four previous Rambo movies, because he is not going out into a jungle or a warzone in order to complete a mission – this is taking place right in his home, giving us a different perspective on the aging action hero.
The first four Rambo movies that have spanned over 35 years’ time have earned over $290 million domestically and over $720 million worldwide, and the final installment, over ten years after the fourth movie, is expected to be popular.
Sylvester Stallone’s Rambo: Last Blood will open in theaters September 20th.
