Starbucks Customers Infected in Outbreak, Employees Spared

A coronavirus-infected woman visited a Starbucks north of Seoul this month. As a result, more than two dozen customers tested positive just a few days later. However, the four employees who were wearing masks were able to escape infection.

This outbreak is yet another example of how quickly COVID-19 can spread in confined spaces. While some health authorities still debate the mask issue, the fact remains that this 56-person cluster was linked to the air-conditioned coffee outlet.

“This speaks volumes about the role masks can play,” said Ma Sang Hyuk, a pediatric infectious diseases physician at the Changwon Fatima Hospital. “Masks may not provide 100% protection, but there’s nothing out there that’s as effective.”

Jung Eun-kyeong, head of the Korea Centers for Disease Control & Prevention offered a warning on Sunday. “The virus may spread where people can’t wear masks while eating or drinking tea, as witnessed at the Starbucks in Paju.”

As a result of the initial Starbucks infection, three dozen more cases appeared as of August 24. When the coronavirus first started, people stocked up on toilet paper and coffee–but eventually started to get confident about visiting restaurants and similar.

However, you should still be cautious about being around others in close quarters.

‘Pope Simulator’ Lets You See What It’s Like to Play Pope

Have you ever wondered what it might be like to spend a day as the Pope himself? If so, you’re in luck! The upcoming Pope Simulator game on Steam might be exactly what you’re looking for.

Here’s the trailer:

On the Steam page, a blurb for the simulator reads:

“Realistic simulator of the People. Face the problems of the modern world from the point of view of the head of the Church. Make decisions that will weigh on the fate of humanity, convert and support the crowds. Plan the church’s strategic actions through faithful envoys. Manage your travels around the globe. Fight for peace.”

While there have been many simulators released throughout the years, none have quite been like this. In fact, some of the features for the Pope Simulator include being able to influence the world’s fortunes, interfere in international politics and fight for peace on Earth.

Not only that, but you can also use the strength of your faith to help others. Aww.

And if religion-based games are your thing, I Am Jesus Christ is another upcoming title that will allow you to play the role of none other than the man himself.
