Great news for fans of Shaun Weiss! The actor of “The Mighty Ducks” fame will soon leave jail so that he can enter rehab.

Shaun Weiss’ Drug Arrest

Police recently arrested Shaun Weiss in Yuba County, CA. Police charged him with attempted burglary of a home after a caller reported someone was in their garage.

Shaun Weiss had broken into the caller’s vehicle and “displayed symptoms of being under the influence of methamphetamine.”

Weiss has a history of drug abuse and drug-related arrests.

In July 2017, Weiss served 12 days in the Los Angeles County Jail for petty theft. Five days after the jail released him, police arrested him in Burbank for possession of meth. That time, the judge sentenced him to 90 days in jail.

In August 2018, cops arrested Weiss for public intoxication in Oroville, CA. Weiss then announced he was going to rehab. We are not sure if he actually went.

TV Show Sponsors Shaun Weiss’ Recovery

According to TMZ, the recent arrest prompted support from fellow Hollywood peers. Michael Lohan, Lindsay Lohan’s dad, apparently “pulled some strings and got a rehab facility in Texas to sponsor Shaun’s recovery.”

It’s not clear if Shaun Weiss knows about Lohan’s offer. In any case, another “prominent TV show reached out to Shaun’s team and introduced them to [a] rehab facility, which will sponsor his recovery.” TMZ reports that Shaun Weiss has accepted this offer.

Shaun Weiss will “be released as early as Thursday and will head to a hospital in Orange County where his treatment will begin with one week of detox,” TMZ says.

“The plan is for him to spend 90 days in a SoCal rehab facility…sources say that will be followed by an intensive outpatient/partial aftercare sober-house program before Shaun goes to a sober-living home.”

We are so happy to hear that Shaun Weiss is starting his road to recovery through this new drug treatment program. It’s amazing that his friends in the industry are supporting him in his battle against addiction. After all, drug abuse traps many young actors as they come up in Hollywood, and Weiss is far from alone.

Maybe sometime next year, we’ll get to see Shaun Weiss make an appearance in the Disney+ “Mighty Ducks” reboot!
