A bipartisan group of senators announced on Sunday they have reached a tentative agreement on gun control legislation, as 10 Senators from each party signed a statement announcing the framework deal, the Washington Post reported.
The statement includes nine points of focus which includes: Under 21 enhanced review process, finding school safety resources, funding for school-based mental health and supportive services, protection for victims of domestic violence, investment in children and family mental health services, support for state crisis intervention orders, telehealth investments, clarification of federally licensed firearms dealers, and penalties for straw purchase, the Daily Wire reported.
Jennifer Hudson, who first came to national attention as a finalist in the third season of American Idol in 2004, placing seventh has gone on to achieve a blockbuster career. The actress and singer won a Tony award on Sunday for producing the hit Broadway musical “A Strange Loop,” and that moved her into EGOT status —meaning she has won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award in her career, CBS reported.
In the fourth flight as part of “Operation Fly Formula,” 190,000 pounds of baby formula from Australia arrived in Los Angeles on Sunday. The emergency shipment equates to roughly 95,000 containers of baby formula in a deal struck between Bubs Australia and American grocery chains Kroger Co. and Albertsons Companies, ABC reported. The shipment is one of two flights entering the US this week, with a second shipment arriving Thursday in Columbus, Ohio. Both shipments will deliver over 4 million 8-ounce bottles, or 380,000 pounds, of baby formula on Albertsons and Kroger shelves starting on June 20.
TV host and music manager Sharon Osborne says her husband Ozzy Osbourne, 73, will undergo “a very major operation on Monday [June 13], and I have to be there.”
“It’s really going to determine the rest of his life,” said Sharon, E! News reported. Mrs. Osborne did not reveal what the medical procedure was for. Ozzy has been battling the brain disorder Parkinson’s disease for years.
On Sunday, country music singer Toby Keith revealed he’s been battling stomach cancer, Fox reported.
“Last fall I was diagnosed with stomach cancer,” Keith wrote on Instagram. “I’ve spent the last 6 months receiving chemo, radiation and surgery. So far, so good. I need time to breathe, recover and relax.”
“I am looking forward to spending this time with my family,” Keith added. “But I will see the fans sooner than later. I can’t wait.”
