The rapidly-spreading, respiratory-affecting COVD-19 virus, a novel coronavirus from Wuhan, China, has been at the center of countless headlines since winter 2019. While we’re almost six months out from its initial infections in central China, the disease remains a major concern. People all over the world have contingency plans.
Our first story this morning pertains to Jim Bakker. He is a televangelist who is known for selling various “cures” and “tonics” that don’t really cure anything.
Many call the noted television personality a “snake-oil salesman.” They accuse him of using religion and scare tactics to sell worthless junk as though it has some real value.
The office of the New York Attorney General just slammed Bakker with a notice to stop selling his bogus “Silver Solution.”
The reason? On Bakker’s show, he asked a “naturopathic” doctor named Sherrill Spellman if her “Silver Solution” would work on the COVID-19 virus. She stated,
“Let’s say it hasn’t been tested on this strain of the coronavirus, but it’s been tested on another strain of the coronavirus and has been able to eliminate it within 12 hours.”
As you could guess, that was a lie.
Meanwhile, president Donald Trump is allegedly furious over the COVID-19 epidemic. A noted germaphobe, Trump is angry that he can’t control the narrative or contain the virus effectively.
Meanwhile, US markets are plummeting. The Trump administration has done little to ease the stock market’s fears that COVID-19 could become a full-scale pandemic.
Sources inside the White House think the markets dropping made Trump realize how serious the situation is.
“He’s just now waking up to the fact that this is bad, and he doesn’t know how to respond,” says an anonymous White House staffer.
Allegedly, Trump is “terrified” that he’ll catch the novel coronavirus. He even suggested that a reporter could purposefully contract COVID-19 with the intention of giving him the virus.
Uber Australia will now allow ride sharers to bring their pets along with them in Sydney and Brisbane. The company is testing out a new service: Uber Pets!
Uber hopes to make it easier for people to catch a ride when they have their fur babies with them.
The trips will be a bit more expensive. They will likely end up around six to seven bucks more. But that’s a small price to pay to keep your fuzzy friends close at hand!
No word yet on when cellphones will respond to the touch of a puppy paw, so good boys and girls everywhere can call their own Ubers to and from the park.
