Have you heard of Lady Kitty Spencer? The 29-year-old royal is Princess Diana’s niece and the eldest child of the 9th Earl Spencer. She is a fairly popular English model and has done well for herself over the years, including becoming a spokesmodel for the luxury BVLGARI line.
Her lineage makes her not only Princess Diana’s niece, but a first cousin to Prince Harry and Prince William. Family reunions must be really interesting for her.
A rumor is circulating that she and her long-time boyfriend Michael Lewis are now engaged. The reason this is really making headlines isn’t her royal heritage, however.
It’s the fact that Lewis is 61. He has a staggering 31 years on Kitty and is 5 years older than her own father.
That’s weird, right? Are we all on board with this?
If rumors are to be believed, this couple has been dating since August of 2018, so well over a year now. This is on track for when the average couple would start thinking about settling down, so it makes sense.
According to the local media, the couple spent the holidays in Cape Town, South Africa with his family. Kitty went to college in Cape Town and apparently, Lewis has strong ties there, so it makes sense.
Sources close to the couple suggest that despite the age gap, both families love their relationship and couldn’t be happier to see the two engaged.
Michael Lewis, born in South Africa with British citizenship, made most of his money in the fashion industry. But he didn’t go the modeling or designing route – apparently, he went the business route.
He’s been the chairman of the Foschini Group, a South African-based clothing retail company, since 2015, and he owns several high-end boutiques in London.
The couple spends much of their time at his $19 million mansion in London, located in the hot Regent’s Park area. I refer to it as a “mansion” because of the seven bedrooms, but I guess you never know. It could be “homely.”
As of right now, there’s no official confirmation from the couple, but several sources are saying yes, they are engaged. Kitty was spotted getting her hair done this week, and a ring on that finger was very visible.
Royal weddings are always the best, so we’ll be on the lookout for more news about wedding plans and who will attend.
