Guardianship has been decided for Nipsey Hussle’s two children.  On Tuesday, a judge decided that Nipsey’s family had presented enough evidence that they should become the legal guardian to his 10-year-old daughter, Emani, instead of her birth mother, Tanisha.  Her birth mother was declared unfit.

Nipsey Hussle’s family members included a person named Angelique Smith, and his two siblings, Sam Asghedom and Samantha Smith.

Nipsey Hussle’s Daughter and Son, Custody Arrangements

Nipsey Hussle, whose real name was Ermias Joseph Asghdom, passed away on March 31, 2019 at the age of 33.  He was known as an entrepreneur, American rapper and a community activist, who was targeted in front of his store, “Marathon Clothing,” in South Los Angeles by Eric Holder.  Holder was arrested and charged on April 2, 2019.

He left behind two children, a daughter, 10, and a son, 3 – both of whom have different mothers.  After the court ruling yesterday, his family was granted guardianship of his daughter.  Her mother, Tanisha Foster, had battled with Nipsey’s siblings in an attempt to gain custody, but lost.

His son, Kross, is to remain in his mother’s care, Lauren London.  London went to court on Tuesday to obtain guardianship over her son’s estate, which is estimated to be worth one million dollars, which he inherited from his father.  The other half is expected to go to Nipsey’s daughter.

While Nipsey Hussle’s family had issues with Tanisha Foster, there were none between them and Lauren London when it came to Nipsey’s son.

Nipsey Hussle’s Sister Filed for Custody of his Daughter in April

Nipsey’s sister, Samantha Smith, filed for custody of his daughter in April 2019, stating that the girl’s biological mother was unable to care for her.  She said that Nipsey had been the primary caretaker of the child, and that she herself had always played a close role in helping to take care of Emani.

Initially, there were crowdfunding efforts to help ensure that Nipsey Hussle’s children would be taken care of, but it was later revealed that he had set up multiple trust funds to make sure they’d always have what they need.  Hussle was said to have had a net worth of $8 million when he passed away.
