Man Exposes Pregnant Wife to Coronavirus in Maternity Ward

A husband hid the fact that he’d been exposed to coronavirus so he could visit his pregnant wife in the maternity ward of a New York hospital. He only confessed to the truth after his wife started to show symptoms of the virus.

When he arrived at the Rochester hospital for his child’s birth, he lied to the staff. He said he was in good health and that he hadn’t been exposed to coronavirus.

However, shortly after she gave birth, his wife started to show the tell-tale symptoms. A spokesman for the hospital, Chip Partner, said, “That’s when the significant other admitted his potential exposure and that he was feeling symptomatic.”

The hospital tested the nurse that attended the family. She had negative results. Nurses cannot say if the family members have the virus.

“It was purely an honor system before,” said Partner. “Now we’re adding the temperature check.”

A message posted on the hospital’s website explains the new rules. Officials will screen visitors twice a day. Those with symptoms must leave the hospital.

In many countries, people have been resorting to the cheapest phone plans available so they can stay in touch with their loved ones. This is far safer than visiting in person.

Nurse Makes Colorful PPEs to Help Brighten People’s Moods

We’ve all heard about the immense challenges that nurses are facing. But one nurse set out to brighten everyone’s mood, including the patients in his care.

Adrien Pe took it upon himself to create colorful PPE equipment for himself and his fellow nurses to use at the hospital where they work. The PPEs are in bright green, yellow, red and violet colors to mimic the cartoon Teletubbies characters.

They captioned the image,

“Teletubbies NURSES will soon invade different hospitals in the CITY OF LOVE, Iloilo City.”

Pe explained, “Filipinos are known to see the silver lining in every situation, so I guess that motivated me to do this.”

“We were rooting for white, blue and neutral colors. However, the materials were limited since most of the shops were closed.”

So, Pe made do with what he had to create the colorful PPEs shown in the photo. Adrian says this is the least he could do to try making a difference in his community.

83-Year-Old Grandma Survives Coronavirus, Oldest to Recover in the Philippines

Since the elderly are the most vulnerable to coronavirus, any time someone is able to defeat the virus counts as an accomplishment worth celebrating. And in this particular case, an 83-year-old grandma became the oldest person in the Philippines to survive the virus.

In an interview with John Consulta’s 24 Oras report, the woman known as Patient 3 said:

“I was celebrating in my room. I didn’t know if I was going to die or not.” Very thankfully, she was able to pull through.

Mayor Arlene Arcillas said that the woman was an inspiration to the elderly community. “It is said that being a senior is dangerous. But she showed us that if you just do what you need to do, you’ll be fine.”

In the Philippines, they’ve experienced 2084 confirmed cases, with 88 deaths and 49 recoveries.
