Majority of Americans, Republicans Included, Say Wait for Election to Replace Ginsburg

Reuters/Ipsos released a new poll on Sunday. It shows that a majority of Americans share the same sentiment. This includes both Democrats and Republicans. They want the next president to name a successor to Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

The poll was conducted on Sept. 19-20. The results were very clear. Many Americans object to Trump’s plan to push through another lifetime appointee to the U.S. Supreme Court. By doing so, the court would have a 6-3 conservative majority.

62 percent of American adults agreed the vacancy should be filled by the new president. According to the poll, 23 percent disagreed, while the rest said they weren’t sure.

Overall, five in 10 Republicans and eight out of 10 Democrats agreed on one thing. That the new appointee should wait until after the election.

As a result, the poll found that 30 percent of Americans said Ginsburg’s death will make them more likely to vote for Biden over Trump. However, 38 percent said her death had no impact.

You obviously don’t need to wear hearing aids to hear the message the poll is sending.
