If you haven’t received your stimulus check yet, you’re not the only one. While many Americans have already gotten a payment sent directly to their bank accounts, others are still left out in the cold.

If you’re wondering what you can do to speed up the process a little faster, here are a few things you can do to ensure that you get your stimulus check ASAP:

How to Get Your Stimulus Check Quickly

Here are the steps you should take to make sure you get your coronavirus stimulus payment as quickly as possible:

  • Take time to review your most recent tax return
  • If you’re not signed up for direct deposit, sign up immediately
  • Non-filers should sign up through the new IRS portal
  • After April 17, you can use the “Get My Payment” option

Take Time to Review Your Most Recent Tax Return

You should take a peek at your most recently filed tax return for clues on when you should receive your stimulus payment. If you opted for direct deposit, that information will show up on lines 21a through 21d on Form 1040.

This will also provide a record about whether or not you directed your refund through a banking institution, along with the routing and account numbers you used. Remember that they will send payments based on your 2018 and 2019 returns.

If You’re Not Signed Up for Direct Deposit, Sign Up Immediately

For those who haven’t filed their 2019 tax returns yet and don’t already have direct deposit available, you should sign up for it immediately. This can help make sure that you’ll receive your stimulus payment more quickly since you won’t have to wait on a check to arrive in the mail.

Waiting for a paper check can take weeks or even months to arrive, so taking the time to set up a direct deposit account can be much more time-efficient. If you’re due for a tax refund, this can also help you get that even more quickly as well.

Non-Filers Should Sign Up Through the New IRS Portal

If you don’t normally file taxes, the IRS has provided a new portal. The portal allows non-filers to provide information to receive a stimulus payment. It essentially creates a Form 1040 based on the information provided.

Some of the information you need to provide includes your:

  • Legal name
  • Home address
  • Email address
  • Bank account information
  • Social Security Number

Use the ‘Get My Payment’ Option

For filers that don’t have direct deposit available, the IRS is providing yet another option. A new “Get My Payment” option is now available.

This will enable you to submit direct deposit information to the IRS and find out the status of your payment.

Hopefully, the stimulus payments can help Americans with things like humira medicare cost and other financial issues.
