Federal Prosecutors Want to Speak With Prince Andrew About Epstein

New York federal prosecutors, as well as the FBI, are seeking an interview with Prince Andrew over his connection to convicted sex criminal Jeffrey Epstein. While Epstein himself died in August, the federal case against him and his co-conspirators is ongoing. According to prosecutors, Andrew is offering “zero cooperation.”

Epstein’s Crimes

Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide in his prison cell after his arrest. Prosecutors had charged him with sex trafficking, including grooming minors at his various private villas.

Officials speculate that Epstein was running a sex-trafficking ring for the uber-wealthy and powerful. They know Epstein had contact with influential individuals like Donald Trump, Bill Clinton and Prince Andrew.

Many consider Epstein’s death in prison suspicious. He knew powerful people that were also involved in criminal sex trafficking. This makes his sudden death seem rather convenient.

Prince Andrew’s ties to the criminal came under scrutiny last year. The British royal stated, “Of course, I am willing to help any appropriate law enforcement agency with their investigations, if required.”

Prince Andrew and Epstein’s Relationship Under Scrutiny

According to a recent interview held outside of Epstein’s mansion in Manhattan, Andrew is not playing nice with law enforcement.

US Attorney Geoffrey Berman told reporters, “The Southern District of New York and the FBI have contacted Prince Andrew’s attorneys and requested to interview Prince Andrew and to date Prince Andrew has provided zero cooperation.

“He publicly offered, indeed in a press release, to cooperate with law enforcement investigating the crimes committed by Jeffrey Epstein and his co-conspirators,” the US Attorney continued.

It’s unusual for federal prosecutors to disclose which people they are seeking in connection to ongoing cases. However, Berman explained that this is an unusual circumstance.

Prince Andrew is a public figure and publicly stated his willingness to cooperate. Therefore, Berman says it’s the public’s right to know that he’s no longer cooperating.

Berman reiterated that Epstein wouldn’t have been able to conduct his crimes without the help of his accomplices. The attorney did not state what information they are seeking from Prince Andrew.
