After Dr. Anthony Fauci warned that in some places, schools should remain closed in the fall, President Donald Trump voiced his frustration.
Fauci made his statement during a televised congressional hearing where he stressed that reopening states too early could result in dire consequences.
In response to Fauci’s warning about not reopening states too early, Trump made his thoughts known on the matter.
“I was surprised by his answer, actually,” said Trump. “It’s just… to me, it’s not an acceptable answer. Especially when it comes to schools.”
In the televised appearance on Tuesday, Fauci warned that a coronavirus vaccine would not be available to students when they return to school in the fall. He suggested that some schools should remain closed while others should open cautiously.
Fauci warned that states risk reprisals of the outbreak if they reopen before meeting the criteria laid out by the Trump administration.
However, Trump said that Fauci “wants to play all sides of the equation,” and insisted that schools should open in the fall.
“We’re reopening our country. People want it open. The schools are going to be open,” said Trump on Wednesday in the Cabinet Room.
Trump says he believes colleges should reopen because the students might not have the same health risks from coronavirus as older people.
“These are young students. They’re in great shape,” said Trump. “Will something happen? Perhaps. You can be driving to school and some bad things can happen too.”
However, many fear that college students who contract the virus could expose other members of their family and their communities. Thankfully, there are many colleges on line that students can choose to attend.
Other universities are choosing not to return in the fall at all.

The relationship Dr. Fauci has with President Donald Trump has been closely scrutinized during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is because he has appeared to both correct and contradict President Trump at times during public appearances.
However, Fauci has insisted that his relationship with Trump isn’t contentious, but Trump has bristled in the past when he appeared to be at odds with the nation’s leading infectious disease expert.
As soon as last month, Trump retweeted a message that called for Fauci’s dismissal. But, he later said he wasn’t looking to fire him.
Former Vice President Joe Biden, Donald Trump’s presumptive opponent in November’s election, tweeted on Wednesday in support of Dr. Anthony Fauci.
“I would trust the guy who’s one of our nation’s top public health experts. Not the one who pondered injecting disinfectant into the body and looked directly at a solar eclipse,” said Biden.
