Donald Trump to Host Funeral for His Brother at the White House

Robert Trump’s body will be driven from New York to the White House, according to sources who are familiar with the arrangements. This will be the first time a deceased body has been brought to the White House since President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963.

200 people have been invited to attend the funeral by the Trump family. However, it isn’t clear how many plan to attend. The service will be covered by the President personally. It is expected to be held in the East Room of the White House.

Trump, who visited his brother one day before his death, called him his “best friend” in a statement.

“His memory will live on in my heart forever. Robert, I love you. Rest in Peace,” said Trump.

Teachers Formally Declared Essential Workers by White House

As part of their efforts to encourage schools to reopen around the country, the White House is formally declaring teachers essential workers. As a result, this means teachers can continue to work even after exposure to COVID-19. Well, as long as they remain asymptomatic.

However, many people who test positive for coronavirus show no symptoms at all. In other words, these teachers could expose their co-workers and the students they teach.

Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers is concerned. He worries that the designation could be used to “threaten, bully and coerce” teachers into classrooms.

“If the President really saw us as essential, he’d act like it. Teachers are and always have been essential workers. But, not essential enough, it seems, for the Trump administration to commit the resources necessary to keep them safe in the classroom.

“Rather than fund these protections, create a plan and guidance for how to ensure that school buildings can reopen safely, and follow the science, the Trump administration will always try to change the rules to threaten, bully and coerce. No doubt this new ‘guidance’ will be used as a pretext by the Trump-supporting governors to force students and educators into unsafe buildings to serve the president’s political agenda.”
