Documents From 2015 Ghislaine Maxwell Case Unsealed by Judge’s Orders

In a new development in the ongoing case against former Jeffrey Epstein contact Ghislaine Maxwell, a judge has ordered court documents be unsealed. The documents, which are from a 2015 case against Maxwell, include information that was never publicly revealed. Maxwell was once the girlfriend of disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Epstein underwent multiple arrests on charges of sex crimes. He died in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial. His death was officially ruled a suicide. However, few people believe the official version of events, alleging that someone killed Epstein before he could stand trial.

The Sordid Crimes of Jeffrey Epstein

Epstein committed heinous crimes against minors. He was to stand trial on allegations that he would groom underage girls for rape by rich and powerful men that visited his properties. Some of the people alleged to have hung out with Epstein over the years include Prince Andrew, Donald Trump and Bill Clinton. Many of Epstein’s former contacts quickly distanced themselves from the financier when the charges against him became public.

Ghislaine Maxwell’s role in Epstein’s human trafficking remains unclear to the public. Prosecutors accuse her of helping Epstein to find and groom underage girls for his crimes. The victims of the crimes say she was often part of the rape. Maxwell publicly insists that this is not the case. She alleges that she had no knowledge of Epstein’s criminal conduct while they were dating or after.

Unsealed Court Documents

The court documents unsealed on Thursday are from a 2015 defamation case against Epstein. The case, brought forward by Virginia Roberts Giuffre, alleged that Maxwell aided in her abuse at the hands of Epstein. Giuffre alleges in the case that Epstein manipulated her and raped her when she was under the age of 18. They settled the case in 2017 and sealed the relevant documents.

Maxwell’s testimony is in the documents. Within, she insists that she had no knowledge of Epstein’s crimes. Judge Lorretta Preska stated that “In the context of this case, especially its allegations of sex trafficking of young girls, the court finds any minor embarrassment or annoyance resulting from Ms. Maxwell’s mostly non-testimony … is far outweighed by the presumption of public access.”

Maxwell is currently in prison and awaiting a new trial over her alleged cooperation with Epstein. Prior to jail, she was a wealthy socialite who often drove the nicest cars, never cars for lease, and rubbed shoulders with the rich and powerful. Now, she’s under close guard in prison. Many suspect she might be a suicide risk, much like Epstein.
