‘Cops’ TV Show Canceled Amid George Floyd Unrest, and 75-Year-Old Man Shoved By Police Could Be a ‘Set Up,’ Says Trump, But Who Is He Really?
Fans of the “Cops” show will be disappointed at this news. The Paramount Network announced that the show has been officially canceled.
“‘Cops’ is not on the Paramount Network and we don’t have any current or future plans for it to return,” said a Paramount Network spokesperson in a statement.
“Cops” originally launched on Fox in 1989. However, the show has recently come under fire amid the George Floyd protests.
Because of recent lockdowns, people who took advantage of outdoor TV prices might be discouraged to find out the series is now off-air.

A 75-year-old man recently made waves on social media after being shoved to the pavement by police in Buffalo, NY. However, on Tuesday, President Trump shared an unfounded conspiracy theory about what took place. Trump referred to right-wing One America News Network (OANN) as a reference.
“Buffalo protestor shoved by Police could be an ANTIFA provocateur. 75 year old Martin Gugino was pushed away after appearing to scan police communications in order to black out the equipment. @OANN,” Trump tweeted.
“I watched, he fell harder than was pushed,” Trump added. “Was aiming scanner. Could be a set up?”
However, the man who was pushed, Martin Gugino, is still in the hospital. His attorney, Kelly V. Zarcone, issued this statement:
“Martin Gugino is still hospitalized and his condition remains largely unchanged. He is in serious but stable condition. Martin has acknowledged and sincerely appreciates the tremendous outpouring of support he has received nationwide. Martin and his family continue to request privacy as they focus on Martin’s health and recovery.”
The man’s friends have come forward to dispute the President’s claims as well. They say Gugino is a retired computer scientist who is known for being a devout Catholic. He passionately advocates for multiple causes on behalf of the poor.
“Martin has a passion for social justice,” said Mark Colville, who runs Amistad Catholic Worker in Connecticut. “When he sees wrong he wants to be involved in making it right.” Colville has known Martin for years.
“Martin is shy and reserved,” said Colville. “He likes his privacy and he doesn’t make a spectacle of himself. Martin likes to show up and be present. He likes to be involved in these movements for justice. But, he doesn’t do it in a self-promoting kind of way.”
On Tuesday, Martin’s lawyer said, “We are at a loss to understand why the President of the United States would make such dark, dangerous and untrue accusations against him.”
In conclusion, is what the President said about Gugino okay? Most importantly, will it have any lasting repercussions? Time will tell.
