Chick-fil-A Apologizes after Making BIG Mistake

A big mistake was made by Chick-fil-A, and they’ve been forced to make an apology. It seems someone at Chick-fil-A corporate forgot one of the main cornerstones of the company’s message.

That is, they’re closed on Sundays.

National Sandwich Day is on a Sunday, Guys

National Sandwich Day, a fake holiday that no one really knew about until this moment, happens every year on the same date (Unlike a holiday like American Thanksgiving, which happens on the same day but a different date).

That date is November 3. Which, if you have a calendar in front of you, you’ll know is this coming Sunday. If you heard about the new Popeye’s sandwich coming back, you know that they’re using National Sandwich Day as the official relaunch date.

It appears that someone at the chicken chain either didn’t realize that the 3rd was a Sunday, or forgot that their own company wasn’t open…

Chick-fil-A Promoting National Sandwich Day, When You Can’t Buy One from Them

Chick-fil-A sent out a promotional email this week talking about how excited they were for National Sandwich Day, which absolutely makes sense because their main bread and butter is chicken sandwiches.

Unfortunately, that email was followed up immediately by an apology after someone realized you couldn’t get a chicken sandwich from them on National Sandwich Day.

“We recently sent an email that included a message about National Sandwich Day, which naturally we were very excited about. We didn’t realize it falls on Sunday when we are closed. We apologize for the confusion and hope to see you soon (Monday-Saturday).” The apology read.

Twitter picked up on it right away, causing the mishap to go viral.

“The cows sometimes get over-eager on their quest for self-preservation,” A Chick-fil-A spokesman joked when talking about their mistake. Cows are the brand’s mascots, as the company famously does not serve beef products at all.

Twitter Loves the Popeyes-Chick-fil-A Rivalry

A Twitter user tweeted a screenshot of the apology email to Popeye’s official twitter, asking what they have to say about that. Popeye’s has been witty on Twitter lately while promoting their new sandwich and stirring up rivalries among fried chicken chains.

“seriously… y’all good?” Popeye’s responded, tagging Chick-fil-A’s official account. It’s a good question.

Chick-fil-A, which has been around since 1946, has always been closed on Sundays. The original founder, Truett Cathy, was deeply religious and has passed that down throughout his family. Sunday is believed to be the Lord’s day, and therefore a day of rest.
