Biden to Put End to the Border Wall Construction if Elected

Former Vice President Joe Biden plans to put an end to the construction of the border wall. While he said he won’t tear down President Trump’s wall, he says he won’t continue it.

“There will not be another foot of wall construction in my administration,” said Biden during an interview.

“I’m going to make sure that we have border protection, but it’s going to be based on making sure that we use high-tech capacity to deal with it. And at the ports of entry, that’s where all the bad stuff is happening.”

So far, 277 miles of the wall have been constructed. The entire length of the border is 1,974 miles. However, Trump promised on Tuesday that “it will be almost finished by the end of this year.”

Biden vowed that this will never happen if he’s elected. He said he’d also end land confiscations along the border.

“End. Stop. Done. Over. Not going to do it. Withdraw the lawsuits. We’re out. We’re not going to confiscate the land,” said Biden.

Nowadays, there are more modern technologies available to help protect the border; For example, electro-optical cameras, cloud data security programs, chemical detectors and lasers. However, will that be enough?

Facebook Removes Troll Who Posed as African-American Trump Supporter

On Thursday, Facebook removed hundreds of accounts. They were posing as African-Americans in support of Donald Trump. Some of them posed in support of QAnon supporters.

Similarly, Facebook also removed thousands of fake accounts. These were linked to The Epoch Times, a conservative media outlet. This outlet in particular pushed pro-Trump conspiracies about protests and the coronavirus in the U.S.

Facebook removed the accounts as part of their enforcement against coordinated inauthentic behavior policy. This includes the use of fake accounts that attempt to inflate the reach of products or content on social media.

For example, one of the foreign pro-Trump troll farms was based in Romania. It pushed content on Instagram under names like “BlackPeopleVoteForTrump.” They had similar usernames on Facebook like “We Love Our President.”

Facebook insists that the removals are based on “behavior, not content,” because they don’t allow creating fake accounts to help boost engagement on content.

One of the posts was from an account by the name of “Truth14.” The post was a meme about a baseball player who didn’t kneel during the national anthem. The account used a pro-Trump culture war messaging strategy with the wording.

The post read, “This guy is going to need a lot of support because the mob is coming for him and his family. ‘MLB’ is “BLM’ spelled backwards.”
