Former Vice President Joe Biden stuck his foot in his mouth while campaigning in Iowa.
The 2020 Democratic candidate, who is known for his verbal blunders, made quite the gaffe when he said this. President Trump’s campaign has now latched onto the blunder, tweeting a video clip of Biden making the remark.
Joe Biden was speaking about education with the Asian and Latino Coalition in Des Moines, where he is on a four-day campaign effort for the Democratic presidential nomination. What started as a speech about challenging students and implementing advanced placement programs in lower-income schools, ended with Biden saying that poor kids are “just as bright, just as talented, as white kids.”
This is not the first time that Biden has been criticized for his verbal gaffes. When Barak Obama was running for president, Biden once said that Obama was “clean” and “articulate,” an awkward remark that raised eyebrows.
