Baby formula arrives in US, will be on the shelves next week says White House

A US military airlift dubbed “operation fly formula” delivered 39 tons of baby formula to Indianapolis, Indiana, on Sunday with enough specialty infant formula for over half a million baby bottles, CBS reported.

US officials said two additional deliveries, one from Ramstein Air Base in Germany with 132 pallets and another with 114 pallets, are expected to arrive in the US within the coming days, the Daily Mail reported.

The Director of the National Economic Council, Brian Deese, said Americans can expect to see “more formula in stores starting as early as this week.”

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker marry a third time in Italy in lavish ceremony

For the third time, following a Las Vegas ceremony in April and an intimate wedding in a Southern California courthouse on May 15, Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker have tied the knot. It was a lavish outdoor ceremony that was held on May 22 in the village of Portofino in Italy, E! News reported. The nuptials occurred on a red-carpeted altar at the 16th-century Castello Brown in front of friends and family.

Biden says US will use military to defend Taiwan if China invades

Responding to a reporter’s question at a press conference in Tokyo on Monday, President Joe Biden said the United States would militarily defend Taiwan if it were to be invaded by China, Fox reported.

“Yes,” President Biden replied. “That’s the commitment we made.”

A treaty between the US and Taiwan called the 1979 Taiwan Relations Act does not require the United States to step in militarily to defend Taiwan, but the agreement makes it American policy to ensure Taiwan has the resources to defend itself and prevent any unilateral change of status in Taiwan by China, ABC reported.

20th season of “American Idol” won by Kentucky native Noah Thompson

It’s a Cinderella story for this year’s winner of American Idol.

The official winner of the 20th season of “American Idol” is Noah Thompson, a native of Louisa, Kentucky. The victory practically guarantees him a major label record deal, Lex 18 reports.

Three months ago, Thompson was doing construction work while singing on the side. He wound up on American Idol only because a former coworker and friend signed him up for the competition, believing in his singing talents, Local 12 reports.

On Sunday evening, Thompson topped competitors Leah Marlene and Huntergirl to take the victory. As is tradition, a single song from the winner has been released. The single “One Day Tonight” by Noah Thompson is already available on iTunes.
