Stimulus Checks: Possibility of a Second Round in May?

There is a common question that has been on people’s minds. Will there be another round of stimulus checks? SimplyWise, a financial technology firm, says 63% of Americans will need a second check within three months to help them afford their bills.

A follow up to the first relief bill by Congress is expected to be completed by May 4. With the new information, the House could push for a monthly payment system or a second round of checks.

President Donald Trump said earlier this month that “We could very well do a second round of direct payments. It is absolutely under serious consideration.”

After that, some Americans may see more financial relief. Some might wish it came sooner so they could get gifts for mom, with Mother’s Day coming up.

Massive Crowd Gathers to Buy New Air Jordans After Lockdown Lifts

On Saturday, an Atlanta mall saw massive crowds gather. And why? To have a chance to buy the new Air Jordan 5 “Fire Red” sneakers. The shoes had previously sold out online.

The shoppers were closely packed in a line that wrapped around outside Greenbriar Mall. NBC producer Charlie Gile tweeted, “Everyone I talked to was in line for a new Air Jordan 5 that sold out online.”

The shoe frenzy happened after Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp allowed shelter-in-place orders to end, and encouraged businesses to reopen. Therefore, the mall was allowed to open.

‘Murder Hornets’ Discovered in the United States

Sightings of an Asian giant hornet in the United States is prompting fears. There is worry about the hornet devastating bee populations in the U.S.

Ted McFall, a beekeeper, says he’s never seen anything like it. In November, he found a mass of bee carcasses on the ground. When he looked closer, he discovered thousands and thousands of headless bees. There was no sign of what caused it.

“I couldn’t wrap my head around what could have done that,” said McFall.

He later started to suspect that it could have been a “murder hornet” after two of the predatory hornets were discovered a few miles from his property.

As a result, Scientists have started to embark on a hunt for the insects. There is concern that they could decimate local bee populations and establish such a deep presence that there would be no hope for eradication.

Chris Looney, an entomologist from Washing State Department of Agriculture said, “This is our window to keep it from establishing. If we can’t do it in the next couple of years, it probably can’t be done.”

Tara Reade Is ‘Not Sure’ What Complaint She Filed

After Tara Reade made claims that former Vice President Joe Biden assaulted her, she is now saying she is “not sure” what wording was used in her complaint. This follows Joe Biden coming forward on Friday encouraging that any complaints filed should be revealed.

In a text message to NBC News on Saturday, Reade wrote, “I filed a complaint re s-xual harassment and retaliation but I am not sure what explicit words on that intake form until we see it all again.”

As a result, she said that the complaint would not include the allegation she lodged against Biden in March.

When Biden spoke during an interview with MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Friday, he denied Reade’s claims.

“It is not true. I am saying unequivocally it never happened and it didn’t. It never happened.”
