Melania Trump ‘Very Angry’, Tries to Protect Her Son

In a rare show of emotion, Melania Trump made it clear that she doesn’t appreciate anyone talking about her son. 13-year-old Barron has mostly stayed out of the public eye during Donald Trump’s time in the Oval Office, but after a comment during the impeachment hearings mentioned his name, Melania spoke up.

This former model and current first lady got on Twitter today to unleash her anger at Pamela Karlan, a professor of law at Stanford who testified during the impeachment hearings of her husband, Donald Trump.

What Pamela Karlan Said About Barron

Barron Trump, 13, is the only son of Melania Trump and Donald’s youngest child. This week, his name was spoken during the impeachment process going on in the senate.

Professor Pamela Karlan was asked a question about what is the difference between a president and a king, and her comment raised a lot of hackles, not just this mama bear.

“The Constitution doesn’t allow titles of nobility. So, while the president can name is son Barron, he can’t make him a baron.” Was how she responded.

That doesn’t seem fair, as Barron was obviously named before Donald ever ran for any sort of office. And of all the attention that Trump’s other children have gotten during the last few years, Barron hasn’t really been in the spotlight at all.

Melania Trump Strikes Back

Melania went on Twitter after hearing Karlan speak her son’s name to dig into the professor.

“A minor child deserves privacy and should be kept out of politics.” She wrote. “Pamela Karlan, you should be ashamed of your very angry and obviously biased public pandering, and using a child to do it.”

Melania isn’t exactly known for being passionate, especially about politics – unlike some first ladies, she prefers to stay in the background and doesn’t often get involved in her husband’s work. But it seems she couldn’t not speak up.

Melania’s Not The Only One Upset

The mother of Barron wasn’t the only one to speak up, either. After the comment was made on the stand, Rep. Matt Gaetz called the comment from Karlan “mean”.

Donald Trump Jr. also took to Twitter to defend his little half brother, asking how “vile of a person do you have to be to attack a 13-year-old child on national TV for laughs? Apparently, vile enough to be the supposed star witness for democrats.”

He closed his tweet with “Grotesque.”

Pamela Karlan Apologizes… Sort Of

After backlash, the law professor was forced to apologize for her words regard Barron and the off-color joke she made. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be much of a real apology.

She said that she wants “to apologize for what I said earlier about the president’s son. It was wrong of me to do that.” If she had ended it right there, she would have been fine. Sadly, she continued.

“I wish the president would apologize, obviously, for the things that he’s that’s wrong, but I do regret having said that.”

Whether you’re for or against impeachment, a fan of Donald Trump or not, I think everyone can agree that mocking the name of a 13-year-old on national television for a cheap laugh isn’t right, especially in a situation with such weight and importance.

Karlan may have apologized, but we can’t imagine Melania is happy.
