Fauci Slams New CDC Guidelines About Not Testing Asymptomatic People

Dr. Anthony Fauci is going on the record saying he wasn’t present during a August 20 task force meeting. He does not agree with the CDC’s newest guidelines that suggest asymptomatic people need not be tested for covid-19. This includes people exposed to an infected person.

Fauci told CNN Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta, “In was under general anesthesia in the operating room and was not part of any discussion or deliberation regarding the new testing recommendations.”

“I am concerned about the interpretation of these recommendations and worried it will give people the incorrect assumption that asymptomatic spread is not of great concern. In fact, it is,” said Fauci.

As a matter of fact, Fauci’s admission undercuts prior claims made by Adm. Brett Giroir, the administration’s coronavirus testing point person. On Wednesday, Giroir told reporters that the new guidelines had the White House coronavirus task force’s stamp of approval.

Giroir replied, “Yes, all the docs signed off on this before it even got to the task force level,” when specifically asked whether Fauci approved off the new guidelines.

Hurricane Laura Makes Landfall in Louisiana With ‘Unsurvivable Storm Surge’

According to the National Hurricane Center, Hurricane Laura is hitting the Gulf Coast as a Category 4 with an “unsurvivable storm surge.”

“Unsurvivable storm surge with large and destructive waves will cause catastrophic damage from Sea Rim State Park, Texas, to Intracoastal City, Louisiana, including Calcasieu and Sabine Lakes,” said the NHC in a statement.

“This surge could penetrate up to 30 miles inland from the immediate coastline. Only a few hours remain to protect life and property and all actions should be rushed to completion.”

As a result, Hurricane Laura battered Lake Charles, Louisiana early on Thursday with winds up to 132 mph. Calcasieu Pass experienced a storm surge of more than 9 feet. Lake Charles saw sustained winds of 100 mph for almost an hour.

More than 129,000 customers were without power by 2:30 am. The National Hurricane Center said Laura made landfall with maximum sustained winds of 150 mph.

As a result of the ongoing coronavirus, the hurricane’s overall impact will be undeniably devastating. This is especially true for people with underlying health ailments, including heart conditions and those in need of arthritis treatment.
