Tragedy as couple dies weeks apart, leaving behind 2 children

A tragic story for one family as mother-of-two Amie Walton, 30, died weeks after her partner Chris Mills, 42, passed away next to her from a ruptured stomach ulcer. Walton and Mills left behind their two children in the care of Amie’s mother. Amie was in the hospital receiving treatment for cancer when she found out her husband died next to her in Good Hope Hospital, the Mirror reported. Amie passed exactly four weeks later. The grandmother will now care for the two children Harry, eight, and Mia, six, the Sun reported.

New study finds no health risk with meat

A new scientific study says there are little to no health risks related to eating red meat. Furthermore, the study declares that previous studies claiming that there was a link between red meat consumption and health issues were all based on “weak evidence,” the Blaze reported. The new study comes from the University of Washington’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) and was titled: “Health effects associated with consumption of unprocessed red meat: a Burden of Proof study.” The study was published in the journal Nature.

“We found weak evidence of association between unprocessed red meat consumption and colorectal cancer, breast cancer, type 2 diabetes, and ischemic heart disease,” the study authors wrote. “Moreover, we found no evidence of an association between unprocessed red meat and ischemic stroke or hemorrhagic stroke.”

“While there is some evidence that eating unprocessed red meat is associated with increased risk of disease incidence and mortality, it is weak and insufficient to make stronger or more conclusive recommendations,” the researchers added.
