The first smartwatch from OnePlus, aptly named the OnePlus Watch, is the company’s first foray into the wearable tech space. After years of making excellent smartphones, the company hopes to break into a market that has ben dominated by the likes of Apple and Samsung.
The new watch will retail for $159, making it comparable to similar devices from Apple. The watch’s case is circular, like a traditional watch, and it sports a gorgeous OLED screen that spans just over an inch wide. Unique among smartwatches, it sports a speaker, wi-fi capabilities, 4 GB of internal storage and built-in GPS.
The watch will also feature a unique “Warp Charge” feature that will allow a twenty-minute charge to give the device up to two weeks’ worth of charge. Curiously, the device does not operate using Google’s WearOS, but is running a proprietary OnePlus operating system. The advanced watch will be on sale sometime later this year.
