Nearly 40% of Americans Won’t Buy Corona Beer Because of Coronavirus Scare

A new study by 5W Public Relations conducted a phone study of 737 United States residents who say that they’re beer drinkers. When questioned about Corona beer, the results were surprising.

38 percent said they wouldn’t buy Corona beer under any circumstances now. However, of those who usually drink Corona already, only 4% said they’d stop drinking the beer. Fourteen percent said they wouldn’t order the beer in public.

Sixteen percent of people believe the beer is related to the virus–but of course that isn’t true.

SEMrush, a provider of trends data, has been showing an uptick in searches for “beer coronavirus” and “corona beer virus,” according to 5WPR.

Ronn Torossian, the founder and CEO of 5WPR said, “While the brand has claimed that consumers understand there’s no linkage between the virus and the beer company, this is a disaster for the Corona brand.”

“After all, what brand wants to be linked to a virus which is killing people worldwide?” I’d wager some people think beer provides wonderful flu symptom relief, but hey.

How Sleeping Beside Someone Who Snores Could Damage Your Health

If you sleep beside someone who snores every night, we’ve got bad news for you–it might be damaging your health. This is according to a new study titled “Snoring: a source of noise pollution and sleep apnea predictor.”

The study argues that snoring is a “potential source of noise pollution in the bedroom that can degrade the quality of sleep in bed partners…Noise pollution in excess of 53 dB(A) [decibels] has been associated with adverse cardiovascular events in exposed populations.”

In the study’s experiment, they found that 14 percent of participants snored over 53 decibels, while 66 percent snored over 45.

“Current evidence suggests that accumulated nocturnal exposure to snoring can thus contribute to the development and/or progression of cardiovascular disease in both the snorer and the bed partner,” the research claims.

So, if you or your partner is a snorer, you might want to talk to a doctor.

Dunkin’s Newest Release… a Bag of Bacon

I hope you’re not feeling hungry as you’re reading this, because you’re about to be–but that can be easily remedied by Dunkin’s newest offering: Snackin’ Bacon.

Starting today, you can purchase Snackin’ Bacon at Dunkin’ locations worldwide. And what exactly IS Snackin’ Bacon? It is exactly what the name implies. A literal bag of bacon. Eight half-strips, to be exact.

In a recent blog post, Dunkin’ said, “Here at Dunkin’, we’ve been working hard to formulate the perfect afternoon pick-me-up and really, what’s better than a bag full of bacon?”

And it’s not just any bacon, Dunkin’ has opted for high-end bacon that’s been smoked with natural cherrywood and then treated to a sweet and savory blend of black pepper and brown sugar.

It’s actually the same bacon already used in Dunkin’s Sweet Black Pepper Bacon Sandwich. “With its classic flavors featured in everything from toothpaste to vodka, bacon is a phenomenon. But, at Dunkin’, we believe the best way to enjoy bacon is simple: eat it.”
