Dr. Benjamin Polan of Exceptional Dental in Beverly, Massachusetts told Doug Meehan, “For 10 weeks, essentially, people didn’t go to the dentist. There are 10 weeks worth of serious problems out there.”

Staying Healthy During Shelter-in-Place

After over two months of lockdown, people have had to forego work, socializing and income. If that wasn’t bad enough, they also had to forego certain health care and hygiene practices; dentist offices are certainly not the best place for social distancing.
However, as the country reopens, dental experts join hair salons, theaters and restaurants in trying to find a new normal.

What a Dentist Office Looks Like Post-Lockdown

COVID preventative measures are essential, of course. Polan’s office is proof of that.
For example, prior to reopening they had to install protective Plexiglass at the front desk. Only one patient can be in the waiting room at a time. How…luxurious?
Unfortunately, the amount of patients Polan can see in a day had to be drastically reduced.
